| The May 10, 2004 National Election proved to be successful to both Hon. Benjamin C. Abalos, Jr. and Hon. Neptali M. Gonzalez, Jr., incumbent mayor and congressman, respectively, in their bid for the congressional seat and mayoralty position for Mandaluyong, respectively. On May 14, 2004, the COMELEC proclaimed Gonzales as the new mayor and Abalos as the new congressman. |
