Mandaluyong City Mayor Benjamin Abalos Jr. was conferred  The Outstanding Philippine Leadership Excellence Award in Philanthropy (TOPLEAP) in Public Governance in fitting rites held at the  AFP Officers Clubhouse, Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City. The award, given by the Rotary Club, Junior Chamber International-Philippines Senate and the Countrywide Technology Development (CTD) Foundation, Inc., is in recognition of his great contribution in his community, city and country that are deeply rooted out of and for the love of humanity. Mayor Abalos and ten other awardees were chosen in eleven different categories by the distinguished panel of judges composed of Former Supreme Court Chief Justice Reynato Puno, Department of Social Welfare & Development Secretary Corazon Soliman, Former Senator Richard Gordon, Archbishop Diosdado Talamayan, Catholic Bishopsâ Conference of the Philippines Former President Bishop Nereo Ochimar and noted lawyer Atty.
