On September 12, 2022, a meeting between Department of the Interior and Local Government Secretary Benjamin “Benhur” DC Abalos, Jr. and directors and officers from the Chinese General Hospital and Medical Center (CGHMC) and the Philippine Chinese Charitable Association, Inc. (PCCAI) was held at the DILG office in Camp Crame, Quezon City. The successful meeting finalized the terms of the partnership between the CGHMC and the Philippine National Police (PNP) which gives PNP officers of free hospitalization at the CGHMC for injuries sustained in the line of duty.
CGHMC would also be donating motorcycles to the PNP and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP). The motorcycles would be donated to the Manila Police District to increase police visibility in order to further promote peace and order. Secretary Abalos recommended that the motorcycles to be donated to the BFP be used by the bureau’s first responders in emergency cases, especially during heavy traffic which delays response time for ambulances. The motorcycles would be equipped with emergency response kits.
