Mandaluyong City Mayor Benjamin C. Abalos Jr. and First Lady Carmelita A. Abalos receive the Most-Child Friendly City Award for National Capital Region from the Regional Council for the Welfare of Children (CWC) represented by DSWD Asst. Director Delia Bawan and Atty. Grace Agcaoli from UNICEF. The city also receive a check amounting to P300,000 as cash prize for bagging the Most Child Friendly-City (Highly-Urbanized City Category) in the whole Philippines last year. The city was cited for its outstanding services and solid commitment to uphold children’s welfare through sustained programs and developmental practices particularly in the areas of Health & Nutrition, Education, Protection, Social Welfare and Youth Participation. Mandaluyong once again will represent the NCR to the Presidential Award for the Most Child-Friendly City in the National Level.
