Lawyer and economist Jesse Cruz was Mandaluyong’s Vice Mayor for three terms and is currently the president of the Liga ng mga Barangay and thus represents the association in the City Council.

Born on June 16, 1955 to Aurelio and Juanita V. Cruz, Jesse came from a clan of prominent politicians. He is married to Solita Cosino Aure and blessed with a son, Sherwin.

Jesse Cruz completed his primary and secondary education at the Lourdes School of Mandaluyong in 1964 and in 1969, where he was recipient of the Award for General excellence. He earned his Bachelor of Arts major in Economics degree at the University of the Philippines in 1977, and his Bachelor of Law degree at the San Beda College of Law in 1983.
