MANDALUYONG CITY BAGS 6TH SGLG AWARD FROM DILG

Mandaluyong City was consistently  recognized by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) with its prestigious Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) for the year 2022. The award serves proof that the city government has maintained excellence in delivering public service even with the challenges posed by the ongoing pandemic.

Mandaluyong City has maintained and has been a consistent awardee of the DILG’s top honors for local governance since 2015 and the Seal of Good Local Governance Hall of Fame Award after receiving the annual SGLG recognition for six consecutive years. A distinctive milestone achieved by Mandaluyong being 1 of the only 2 cities in NCR and among the 25 LGUs in the Philippines with the highest accolades.

This year’s 6th SGLG award, under the new leadership of Mayor Ben Abalos, recognizes the multi-awarded city’s innovative governance and practices paired with unparalleled performance and consistent leadership as told by the city’s tagline “MandaleÃąo Disiplinado.. Gawa Hindi Salita.”

DILG Secretary Benhur Abalos said the SGLG award is the agency’s way to change the mindset among local governments by institutionalizing a culture of performance – not only because of the incentive to win but of the local government’s oath of public service to its constituents.

The 6th SGLG award of Mandaluyong City will serve as a challenge to the city in maintaining its integrity and performance in the areas of Good Financial Housekeeping, Social Protection, Disaster Preparedness, Business-friendliness and Competitiveness, Environmental Management and Peace and Order.
