The City Government of Mandaluyong will hold vaccination operations in different schools within the city to increase the local government’s efforts in battling COVID-19 and to prepare children attending face-to-face classes this week.
Mayor Ben Abalos said the City Health Department is directed to initially set up vaccination sites or areas at Rizal Technological University (RTU), Andres Bonifacio Integrated School (ABIS), and Isaac Lopez Integrated School (ILIS). The vaccination sites in the said schools will operate on Tuesday, August 23, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Any student who wish to get vaccinated, with the consent of their parents, will be accommodated.
City Health Department personnel present at the vaccination sites will help any student in registering at the city’s MandaVax portal if they haven’t registered yet.
Abalos said more vaccination sites will be set up in schools in the following days.
“We know that getting vaccinated is crucial for our children who will attend face-to-face classes. We want them to be protected. And of course we are reminding all our students to continue practice the minimum health protocols even if they are vaccinated,” Abalos added.
