MANDALUYONG IS NOW NCR’S MOST CHILD FRIENDLY CITY

Mandaluyong City Mayor Benjamin C. Abalos Jr. and First Lady Carmelita A. Abalos receive the Most Child-Friendly City Award (Highly Urbanized City Category) from the Regional Council for the Welfare of Children-National Capital Region represented by its Regional Director & Chairperson Ma. Alicia S. Bonoan. The city was cited for its outstanding services and solid commitment to uphold children’s welfare through sustained programs and developmental practices particularly in the areas of  Health & Nutrition, Education, Protection, Social Welfare and Youth Participation.  Mandaluyong City will now represent the NCR to the Presidential Award for Most Child-Friendly City-National Level. The award was started in 1999 with the aim to promote the different services and programs for children.  Also in photo are the City Council and the members of the Local Council for the Protection of Children.
