MANDALUYONG MAYOR AND FORMER SENATE PRESIDENT AT THE HIGH LEVEL FORUM 2017 LEADERSHIP ENHANCEMENT AND ADMINISTRATIVE DEVELOPMENT (LEAD) ASIA ORGANIZED BY JAPAN INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION AGENCY AND NATIONAL GRADUATE RESEARCH INSTITUTE FOR POLICY STUDIES (GRIPS).

Former Mayor of Mandaluyong City Benhur Abalos and former Senate President Nene Pimentel speak at the High Level Forum 2017 Leadership Enhancement and Administrative Development (LEAD) Asia organized by Japan International Cooperation Agency and National Graduate Research Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS). Pimentel is considered the Father of the Local Government Code of 1991 while Abalos served as Mandaluyong’s local chief executive for approximately two decades whose term was marked by numerous accomplishments recognized by many local and international bodies such as the United Nations and the Galing Pook Foundation. As one of the phronetic leaders in Asia, former Mayor Abalos presented the City Government’s major achievements during the said forum held recently at the GRIPS in Tokyo, Japan which was attended by local government officials from across Asia, practitioners of public administration, scholars and students. Pimentel and Abalos are the only two Filipinos invited to speak at the said event.
